My Trawler Hat has been released!


Today sees the release of the 'Trawler Hat', available in my Ravelry store 'Bex Knitty Design' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com!








This hat is a combination of an intuitive and dense geometric pattern of twisted stitches for texture and interest and the warmth of a squishy fisherman’s rib brim, making for toasty warmth in the cold weather.
The result is an engaging knit and a hat of cosy goodness, which is both lovely to look at and great to wear. 

After working a snuggly Fisherman’s Rib brim, knit up in either 1 or 2 colours, you’ll work continuously to the crown decreases in the diamond patterned chart made up of alternating Right and Left leaning twists. Due to the nature of these stitches, it is a fairly tight-fitting but is open to various size adjustments. You can add more ‘slouch’ amount by working extra repeats of the chart pattern before proceeding to crown decreases, and in circumference by adjusting the cast on amount, as explained within the Finished measurements section.
The matching Shawl is also available, with a cowl also soon to be released.

  I am totally still obsessed with my latest release, the Deco Decadence Shawl ! What I loved about the process of creating this shawl was the absolute engagement in the images and the yarn and the shapes. My latest release 'Journey Shawl', is now available!

This shawl is a comforting, mediative & restful combination of squishy garter stitch,  bright stripes in varying widths, and graphic patterning.  Just pick some yarns in shades you love and enjoy the squishy stripy yarny journey until you end up with a large, squishy, bold, wraparound of a shawl. This shawl is started with just 3 stitches and uses regular increasing at the end of each (RS) row to form a large asymmetrical triangle to be bound off once you have reached a certain number of stitches. Yarn Hoarding for Winter...

Malabrigo Sock in 'Dizfraz' (about to  become a Beanie for my daughter  to go under the Christmas tree I feel like a squirrel with it's nuts as I currently try to find space for all the yarn orders that I'm enjoying the deliveries of (pics below), and yes I am stocking up for Winter. With Christmas post delays, Covid postal impact and most critical, Brexit, looming- this year I have been trying to store away as much yarn as possible, mainly for designing use, as my stash of 'personal projects' yarn is quite healthy already. Brexit means the dreaded duty and admin fees will be applied to any deliveries from the UK, which is where I mainly order from anyway, so for me, as my yarn budget does unfortunately have it's limits, may have to either become a thing of the past for me or at least a very limited prospect...So I have been trying to order from any Indie dyers in the UK that I'd had on my Wishlist before it's too late, so most of my orders this yarn
