A Design refresh once in a while and back with a release...

I have enjoyed a few days off this week, so not too much design work going on and therefore to talk about to be honest apart from a bit more more on my Sanctuary Space Shawl along with a whole lot of designing in my head, and preparing for this weeks release of the 'Squish Factor Cowl' such as readying the pattern PDF, pictures, promotion and such ... Oh and reworking the 2021 release schedule to accommodate everyone better, including me, well I guess I knew it would happen...
Sometimes it's nice to step away, perhaps work on a personal knitting project here and there and just refresh

When Friday is a Release Day!...

Today sees the release of the 'Squish Factor Cowl', available in my Ravelry store 'Bex Knitty Design' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com!

This is a soft cozy hug of a cowl, made in a big loop so it can be wrapped double. it's a nice rhythmic and relaxing knit which brings comfort. It is made up of simple stitch patterns such as Garter stitch and Fisherman's Rib, beautiful in their very simplicity, which makes for a quick knit, both relaxingly mindless and engaging, and delivers a thick cozy cowl to wrap up in, high in squish factor.
I knit up my sample in Hedgehog Fibre's Sporty Singles in the 'Poppy' colourway, but you could substitute it for Fingering or DK.

As usual with my releases, it will be FREE for the first day or so, which means until end of day (CET) on the 27th February 2021 and then with 25% off until end of day (CET) on the 5th March 2021 to celebrate the launch!
Ravelry: No coupon code needed, price will change on checkout. Offer prices such as these launch discounts can't be used in conjunction with any other offers in my store, so download separately to take full advantage.

Design in Progress...

So I have now ventured into the cream section of the 'Sanctuary Space Shawl' which I have recently changed my plans on regarding patterning that will be used here so I am trying out some ideas  and seeing what I decide to forge ahead with!

Tests in Progress...

This weeks blog post Tests section I felt should focus solely on the tests that have been running for the 'Squish Factor Cowl' as they have now all but finished in view of the release of the pattern.
I thought I would share some of them here in more detail
:

Vrazz (On Ravelry)
chose to make this really pretty picture of a cowl, using Expression Fiber Arts Luster Superwash Merino Tencel Sport in the colourway Live Simply Dream Big
I just think this is so pleasing to the eye!

Knit up this gorgeo
us green cowl with Forest Floor by Yarns by the Bay and a Yarndy Can Green by Fiber Lily. I cannot resist deep rich green tones and they sure makes for a perfect cowl here.

M3mily (On Ravelry)
opted to make 2 Cowls. In the first picture we can see a cowl of warm neutral shades made using Queensland Collection Sunshine Coast colourway 100 Terra Australis, whilst in the 2nd picture we have a richer coloured cowl, with modification to central panel, knit up with Queensland Collection Cassowary colourway 16 Sargasso. Both lovely cowls that I feel have been made really versatile and wearable.

CarryWool (On Ravelry)
knit up this lovely cowl using Woll Butt Amelia colourway 378, so colourful and simply gorgeous

Moogle (On Ravelry)
beautiful piece here worked up in Zen Yarn Garn Superfine Fingering, in colourways Notebook Splatter & Burlesque held together, such pretty speckled loveliness!

WordStitchNoted (On Instagram)
Created this beauty of a cowl using Avalon Yarns, Pendragon Yarn Sport Weight in colourways Sheep in the Sunshine & Blue Spruce Red Stag. I just love the light dark contrast of similar variegation, so striking!

Hopefully this lovely selection will give you some ideas and inspiration for what yarns and colourways you might choose to make some Squish Factor Cowl finished objects for yourself and please take advantage of downloading these patterns whilst they're up for FREE!

Until next time! …
