Whimsical Lane Wrap has been released!

 



When Friday is a Release Day!...

Today sees the release of the 'Whimsical Lane Wrap', available in my Ravelry store 'Bex Knitty Design' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com!


This is a light and floaty fingering weights rectangular wrap, very versatile to wear, is knit from corner to corner, meaning no large cast on or kind off number of stitches. The stitch count stabilizes and remains the same for a large part of the wrap which allows for modification in length if desired. The design is worked on a balanced plan to provide equal amounts of engagement of comfort, featuring natured themed easy to work lace sections separated by cosy Garter stripes sequences interspersed with slipped stitches patterned rows to add interest. I would recommend two tonal/solid shades for the garter stripe combination and whatever yarn you love for the lace sections. Whether delicately draped over the shoulders to provide some light cover or layered around the neck cosy scarf style, formal or casual, it makes a great versatile useful interesting wardrobe piece for many occasions.

I love how you can draw with yarn!

  I am totally still obsessed with my latest release, the Deco Decadence Shawl ! What I loved about the process of creating this shawl was the absolute engagement in the images and the yarn and the shapes. They started as simply, images, symbols, motifs, and the lines and holes that allow them to take form. And you can take some needles and some yarn and you can work your fingers/needles/yarn and really develop those lines and holes from something rather flat and limited in your mind to some alive and vital. It's a real and tangible way of drawing that brings such a sense of self achievement- that you can feel time and time again, everytime you see the image move as you do, the sway of the folds making 'waves' of fluidity and flow out of those lines, and the light bringing shards of life through the holes to illuminate their picture...   My latest release ' Journey Shawl ' , is now available in my Ravelry store ' Bex Knitty Design ' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com! This shawl is a comforting, mediative & restful combination of squishy garter stitch,  bright stripes in varying widths, and graphic patterning.  Just pick some yarns in shades you love and enjoy the squishy stripy yarny journey until you end up with a large, squishy, bold, wraparound of a shawl. This shawl is started with just 3 stitches and uses regular increasing at the end of each (RS) row to form a large asymmetrical triangle to be bound off once you have reached a certain number of stitches.
