My Organised Chaos Set has been released!

Image
Today sees the release of the ' Organised Chaos Set ' , available in my Ravelry store ' Bex Knitty Design ' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com! This set comprises of a headband and jar/pot/cup cosy full of entwining twisted stitches making for a seemingly chaotic tangled trail, but which is in fact organised into a reflective symmetry of stitches starting with individual columns that tangle and twirl together before separating again.  The headband starts with a provisional cast on and knit flat, through half of a plain back piece, then a central panel of a pattern of crossing twisted stitches, followed by the second half of the plain back piece, which will be joined at the back with the first half back piece once it’s provisional cast on is undone. It can be knit all in one yarn or use up leftovers in a complimentary yarn for the simple back piece. The cosy is knit in the same way with a provisional cast on to be joined later, with a simple half chart repeat i...

My Moorlands Embrace Cowl has been released!

Image
Today sees the release of the ' Moorlands Embrace Cowl ' , available in my Ravelry store ' Bex Knitty Design ' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com! Lots of squishy texture and just-one-more-round stripes, all knit up in some of your yummiest shades and you have this highly versatile, handy, fun little knit!   This shoulder hugging Cowl is knit up in soothing striped Moss stitch (2 Rounds of *K1 P1* to BOR followed by 2 Rounds of *P1, K1*) providing texture in heather shades to represent the colours and textures of the moorland landscape that inspired the original pattern (The Moorlands Romance Shawl is also available). After being joined in the round and working a section even, you will then make regular KFB increases to increase width and form a size adjustable shape that will be able to wrap around your shoulders. This takes it from a snuggly cowl to simply wrap around your neck, to a piece that you can pull down over your upper arms, with even extra length added for...

My Woven Hat has been released!

Image
Today sees the release of the ' Woven Hat ' , available in my Ravelry store ' Bex Knitty Design ' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com! This Hat is packed with texture and interest so there’s hardly a dull moment as you create a squishy cosy fabric utilizing both the Right and Wrong sides of bands of Linen stitch, as well bobbles, cables & garter stripes, creating an almost olden world woven look, from another era but also timeless in its snuggly promise. A provisional cast on is used at the start, if you are opting for a picot edging for the brim, and then opened and the picot bind off worked, once you have worked your way through the body of the hat and completed the closure of the crown. You can add more ‘slouch’ amount by working extra garter ridges before commencing with crown decreases. Knitting skills & techniques used: Intermediate - Advanced: Casting on/provisional cast on using crochet hook method and waste yarn, binding off (with picot option), knitti...

My Trawler Cowl has been released!

Image
Today sees the release of the  'Trawler Cowl' ,  available in my Ravelry store ' Bex Knitty Design ' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com! This cowl features twisted stitches and cables to add interest and texture to the knitting process, interspersed with seed stitch, moss stitch and bands of garter to give small frequent “restful” stitches to provide ease between them. The result is an engaging knit and a cowl full of traditional elements and cosy goodness, which is both lovely to look at and easy & comfortable to wear .  Beginning with a provisional cast on, this piece is knit flat, the charts worked through and then uses three-needle bind off to join it into a loop, hidden in a garter stitch section . As usual with my releases, it will be FREE for the first day or so, which means until end of day (CET - Central European Time) on the 19th November 2022 and then with 25% off until end of day (CET - Central European Time) on the 25th November 2022 to celebrate t...

My Trawler Hat has been released!

Image
Today sees the release of the  'Trawler Hat' ,  available in my Ravelry store ' Bex Knitty Design ' and shortly also on LoveCrafts.com! This hat is a combination of an intuitive and dense geometric pattern of twisted stitches for texture and interest and the warmth of a squishy fisherman’s rib brim, making for toasty warmth in the cold weather. The result is an engaging knit and a hat of cosy goodness, which is both lovely to look at and great to wear .  After working a snuggly Fisherman’s Rib brim, knit up in either 1 or 2 colours, you’ll work continuously to the crown decreases in the diamond patterned chart made up of alternating Right and Left leaning twists. Due to the nature of these stitches, it is a fairly tight-fitting but is open to various size adjustments. You can add more ‘slouch’ amount by working extra repeats of the chart pattern before proceeding to crown decreases, and in circumference by adjusting the cast on amount, as explained within the Finished ...
